Amoxil 500 mg capsules contains amoxicillin used in the treatment of bacterial infections. Amoxil is used to treat infections such as bronchitis, ear infection, gonorrhea, pneumonia, skin infections, throat infections, tonsillitis, chest infections and wounds.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Amoxil 500 mg Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Make sure you complete the course even if you start to feel better. It is better to take with food to avoid an upset stomach. Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools. Discontinue Amoxil and inform your doctor immediately if you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or have difficulty in breathing. Amoxil 500 mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with kidney and liver disease. Dose adjustment of Amoxil 500 mg Capsule may be needed.
