Montiget 4 mg granules contain montelukast (One sachet of granules contains montelukast sodium equivalent to 4 mg montelukast) which is used in asthma prevention, sneezing and runny nose due to allergies. It works by blocking the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. This reduces inflammation in the airways to prevent asthma and relieve symptoms of allergies. Take it in the evening for better control of asthma or allergies symptoms. Montiget is a relatively safe medicine with very few side effects. Take montiget 2 hours before exercising if you have exercise-induced asthma. Montiget will not work for sudden wheezing or asthma attacks once they start. Always carry a fast-acting (rescue) inhaler with you.
The dosage for pediatric patients 6 months to 5 years of age is one sachet of 4 mg granules daily to be taken in the evening. No dosage adjustment within this age group is necessary.
Montiget 4 mg sachet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. Montiget is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. but should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. The following information is an educational aid only.
