Propranolol 40mg contains propranolol which is used in the treatment of preventive treatment of migraine, chest pain (Angina), high blood pressure and anxiety. It works by blocking the action of certain chemical messengers on the heart and blood vessels. This effect reduces heartbeat, blood pressure, and strain on the heart following a heart attack.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Propranolol 40mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach. Avoid Propranolol 40mg Tablet with high-fat meals such as olive oil, nuts & seeds (Brazil nuts), dark chocolate, butter and meat.
Taking Propranolol with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, light-headedness,fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate. Propranolol should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.
