Tapentadol extended-release form (Terpynta ER) is for around-the-clock treatment of pain that is not controlled by other medicines. The extended-release form of tapentadol is not for use on an as-needed basis for pain.
The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment and is usually once daily.Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: liver problems, seizures, difficulty swallowing, low white blood cell count, dementia, difficulty urinating (for example, due to enlarged prostate), glaucoma -narrow angle(eye condition), stomach/intestinal disease , smoking, personal or family history of diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol/triglyceride levels, breathing trouble during sleep (sleep apnea). The common side effects include:Drowsiness, dizziness, lightheaded-ness, stomach upset, dry mouth, constipation, increased appetite, or weight gain may occur.
