Overview
The Accusure HIV 1+2 Self-Test puts knowing your status in your own hands. A rapid, private home test that detects antibodies to HIV-1 and HIV-2 from a small fingertip blood sample, with a clear result in minutes. Knowing your status is a powerful, positive step: today's HIV treatment lets people live long, healthy lives, and testing is how that journey starts.
Directions for Use
Wash and warm your hands, then follow the kit leaflet exactly: cleanse a fingertip, prick with the provided lancet, collect the blood drop as directed, add buffer, and read the result within the stated window. Check the expiry date first; the kit is single-use. Note the window period. Very recent exposure may not yet show; retest after the interval the leaflet advises.
A reactive (positive) self-test result is preliminary and must always be confirmed with laboratory testing at a healthcare facility. Confirmation, counselling and effective treatment are available, and people on treatment live full, healthy lives and cannot pass HIV on once virally suppressed. A negative result after recent exposure should be repeated after the window period. If you may have been exposed within the last 72 hours, seek PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) urgently rather than waiting to test. Dispose of lancets safely.
