Real people, in your corner from your first result onwards. Who joins you depends on your plan — you won't necessarily see every specialist.
Completely confidential.
Your answers, your documents and your results are confidential medical records, handled in line with data protection law and seen only by the clinical team looking after you.

You don't have to start over. You can switch your care to THE BRAG — your doctor reviews your recent results so the change is made safely, and you stay in good hands the whole way.

Your consultation is free.
Once your results are in
We call you and tell you which consultation you need and why. For almost everyone, that consultation costs nothing. Not everyone needs the same kind, so we do not ask everyone to travel — and we do not charge you for it either way.
By phone or video
If your results are straightforward, a consultation from wherever you are is often all you need.
In person with a MYDAWA physician
If something needs a closer look or a physical examination.
In person with a specialist
Occasionally, results show something that needs deeper expertise than our own team can provide. This is the only consultation with a separate cost — and we always explain why it is being recommended before you decide.
Your screening is the first paid clinical step. It does not guarantee a prescription or enrolment into the programme. Your doctor will recommend the appropriate next step after reviewing your results, health and goals.
Weight management results vary from person to person and depend on sensible lifestyle factors, including a healthy, balanced diet and regular physical activity, alongside your clinical plan.
Meet your specialist.
Passionate about metabolic health and preventative care for the general population but especially in women's health.

Dr. Okech is the specialist your MYDAWA doctor refers you to when your results need deeper expertise. Her work focuses on obesity, diabetes and metabolic health, and she is passionate about preventive care, especially for women.
- Founder of Benaiah Medical Clinic and Wellness Center
- Honorary Chair Kenya Society of Obesity and Metabolic Health
- Executive member KDSG

Who THE BRAG is not for.
Safety comes first. There are only a few situations where this treatment is genuinely not right — and we would rather be honest before you start. Everything else is reviewed by your doctor after your screening, not an automatic "no".
- Anyone under 18
- Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy in the next 2 months
- People living with type 1 diabetes
Other conditions — such as a history of thyroid or gland problems, a past allergic reaction, pancreatitis, an eating disorder or a stomach-emptying condition — do not rule you out automatically. Your screening is exactly how your doctor checks these, and you decide whether to go ahead once any concerns are explained.
We've got you from here.
01
Your screening is coordinated
We call you to confirm your details and arrange your health checks at the location you chose.
02
Your checks are done

Your consultation is arranged
We call you, explain what your results mean, tell you which consultation is right for you, and book it. It is free, unless your results show you need a specialist.
05
Your next step is personalised
Your doctor reviews your health, results and goals before recommending what is clinically appropriate for you.
Your personalised programme
Doctor-led weight management, built around your clinical assessment, goals and individual needs. Your programme may include:
Your exact programme and cost are confirmed after your clinical assessment. No programme payment is taken on this page.
Your BRAG is bigger than a number.
Weight management happens in real life: how you eat, how you move, how you feel and what happens when you reach a milestone. We're building to support more of that.
Eat well
Programme-friendly meal options designed to make everyday choices easier.
Move your way
Movement and fitness options designed for different starting points and abilities.
Member community
A supportive space for encouragement, shared milestones and staying connected to the journey.
The wardrobe moment
A milestone benefit being created to help eligible members celebrate their progress through selected fashion, tailoring and alteration partners.
Your goal deserves proper care.
THE BRAG is a doctor-led weight management programme. Your medical history, screening results, goals and clinical suitability are reviewed before a treatment plan is recommended. Where prescription treatment is appropriate, it is prescribed and monitored by a licensed healthcare professional.
Not everyone will qualify for medication, and no specific treatment is guaranteed. If medication is not appropriate, your care team can discuss other weight-management options.
Questions, answered plainly.
The programme
What is THE BRAG?
A doctor-led weight management programme. A doctor assesses you properly, and if a plan is right for you it is built around six things working together: medical care, diagnostics and monitoring, nutrition, movement, behavioural support, and your care team. It is not a slimming product, and it is not a one-size plan you download.
Who is THE BRAG for?
THE BRAG is for adults whose weight is affecting their health, or who want to deal with it properly rather than start over again in January. That usually means people carrying a significant amount of extra weight, or people carrying some extra weight who also have a related condition — high blood pressure, high sugar, or trouble breathing while sleeping, for example.
You do not need to work out whether you qualify. That is what the eligibility check is for, and it is free.
Is it for women only?
No. The programme is used by both men and women.
I've tried everything. Why would this be different?
Because carrying extra weight is not simply a willpower problem. It involves hormones that control hunger, and those can work against you no matter how disciplined you are. That is why so many people lose weight and watch it return. For many people, this is the first time the biology and the practical support are addressed at the same time.
Is this just an injection?
No, and this is the most common misunderstanding. Medication is one part of what a plan may include, and it is only right for some people. Plenty of what makes the difference is the rest of it — what you eat, how you move, how you handle the hard weeks, and having someone to ask.
Does joining THE BRAG mean I will receive medication?
No, and we would rather say that plainly than let you assume otherwise. Medication is one part of what THE BRAG may involve, and it is only appropriate for some people. Your doctor decides after reviewing your health, your results and your goals.
If medication is right for you, it is prescribed and monitored properly. If it is not, your plan is built from the other parts of the programme — nutrition, movement, monitoring and ongoing support.
Can I do this without medication?
Yes. If medication is not right for you, or you would rather not, the other parts of the programme still apply. Say so at your consultation.
What does the ongoing programme include?
Six things, working together: medical care and clinical oversight, nutrition support, movement guidance, behavioural support, diagnostics and monitoring, and your care team for ongoing support. Your exact programme is built around your assessment, so it will not look identical to anyone else's.
Eligibility check
How does the eligibility check work?
You answer a set of questions about your health, your weight, your medical history and the medicines you take. It takes about 4 minutes and costs nothing. Answer honestly, including the parts that feel awkward — your answers decide whether it is safe for you to move to the clinical assessment, and a guess puts you at risk rather than us. Nobody is judging you.
At the end, we tell you whether you can move forward.
Do I have to be a certain weight?
There is a threshold, and your doctor checks it against your height. Being close to it does not automatically rule you in or out — other health conditions matter too. The eligibility check works this out for you.
Does completing the eligibility check mean I'm approved?
No. It is an eligibility screening, not a prescription. Our clinical team reviews every submission, and a prescriber makes the final decision after seeing your answers and your lab results.
Why do you ask about my family's health?
A small number of rare conditions run in families and make this kind of treatment unsafe. They are uncommon, which is why the questions can feel surprising. If you are not sure of your family history, say so — we will check with you rather than simply turning you away.
What if I answer "not sure"?
You will not be automatically declined. Someone from the clinical team calls you to check. Most of these resolve in one short conversation.
What happens if I'm not eligible?
We tell you clearly why, rather than leaving you to wonder. For some people, this kind of treatment is not safe or not suitable. We are not going to take your money and put you through an assessment when we already know the answer.
If that is you, your care team can talk you through other weight-management options. Being told no at this stage is the programme working properly, not failing you.
Screening & lab tests
Why do I need a lab test before starting?
Before any prescription, we need a simple blood test. It confirms the medicine is safe for you, checks for conditions like kidney, liver or thyroid problems that could change your treatment plan, and gives us a baseline to track your progress once you start. It is the same standard of care a doctor would follow before starting any long-term treatment.
Is the screening just a delay, or an extra cost?
No. It is a required safety step. Core results are usually ready the same day, and your consultation is booked within 24 hours of your results being released.
What is included in my screening and consultation?
Your screening covers a general check of your blood; your blood sugar now and your average over recent months; your cholesterol and blood fats; how well your kidneys and liver are working; a thyroid check; a urine test; and your blood pressure, weight, height and waist measurement. If you could become pregnant, a pregnancy test is included.
Your consultation is a proper appointment. Your doctor goes through your results with you, explains what they mean, asks about your goals, and recommends what is clinically appropriate. Some people need a phone or video appointment; some need to be seen in person by a MYDAWA physician. Both are free. Occasionally results show something needing deeper expertise than our own team can provide, and a specialist is recommended — that is the only consultation with a separate cost.
I already had blood tests done recently. Do I need to repeat them?
Probably not. If your results are from a recognised lab and dated within the last 3 months, we can usually accept them instead of retesting — so you do not pay twice or wait unnecessarily. You will be asked to upload the lab report when you book. Results older than 3 months, or ones you can only recall from memory, will need to be redone so your prescriber has an accurate picture.
Can my screening be done at home?
Yes. You choose from three options: our team comes to you at home, you walk into a MYDAWA pharmacy, or you visit a selected lab. It is the same screening either way, and it is a short visit. If you choose home, the team brings everything needed, including the scale and tape measure.
Does the screening hurt? Do I need to fast?
A small blood sample, the same as any blood test. It takes a few minutes. You will be told when you book if any part of the panel requires fasting.
How long until I get my results — and why do you call?
Most of the main results come back quickly. Your results go to our clinical team first, so a professional reads them before you do — then we call you. Numbers without explanation cause worry; someone talks you through what they mean, answers your questions, and arranges your consultation.
Consultations
What kind of consultation will I have?
Your results decide. For most people it is a phone or video appointment, or seeing a MYDAWA physician in person. Occasionally results show something needing deeper expertise, and a specialist is recommended.
Can I choose my specialist?
Most people do not see a specialist at all. Your consultation is usually by phone or video, or in person with a MYDAWA physician, and it is free. A specialist is recommended only when your results show something that genuinely needs one — that is a clinical decision rather than a menu. Where there is a choice of doctor or location, we will offer it to you when we call.
What happens at the consultation — and what should I ask?
Your doctor goes through your results with you, explains what they mean, asks about your goals, and recommends what is clinically appropriate. Bring your questions — write them down beforehand, because people forget.
Worth asking: what your results mean, what your plan would look like, what to expect in the first month — and anything you have read that worried you. That last one is worth raising rather than carrying around.
What happens after my consultation?
Your doctor confirms what is clinically appropriate for you and builds your personalised plan around it. If treatment is prescribed, it is dispensed from our licensed pharmacy, and you choose whether it is delivered to you or collected. Your care team shows you exactly how to use it before you begin.
You are then supported on an ongoing basis, with regular check-ins on how you are actually getting on.
Costs
How much does THE BRAG cost?
We will always show you each cost before you commit to it. Your health screening is a fixed price — KES 7,000 — shown before you pay. Your consultation afterwards is free. A specialist consultation, only if your results show you need one, costs KES 5,000. Most people do not.
Your ongoing programme, if one is appropriate for you, is confirmed after your consultation, because it depends on what your doctor recommends. The eligibility check is free. Nothing is hidden — you see each cost before you commit to it.
What am I paying for after the eligibility check?
Your health screening — not the consultation, and not medicine. The screening covers your tests, your measurements, your results, and a call from us explaining what those results mean. Your appointment with a doctor then costs you nothing.
You will see the screening price before you pay, and the eligibility check itself remains free. The one exception: if your results show you need a specialist rather than our own team, that consultation has a separate cost. It is shown on this page, and we explain why it is being recommended before you decide.
Paying for your screening does not buy you a prescription and does not enroll you in the programme. It buys you a proper clinical answer about what is right for you.
Do you offer payment plans?
Not at the moment. If that changes, we will say so clearly.
Results & progress
How quickly will I see results?
Slower than you would like at the start, and that is deliberate. If treatment is part of your plan, it begins gently and builds over time — that is what keeps it comfortable. The first few weeks are about your body adjusting, not the treatment working yet, which is normal and not a sign that something is wrong.
What most people notice first is not a number. It is that food stops occupying so much of their thinking. Meaningful change builds over months rather than weeks. People who know this at the start are the ones who are still going at month three.
How much weight will I lose?
Honestly, it varies a great deal, and anyone who promises you a figure is not being straight with you. What we will do is track your progress and tell you the truth about it — including telling you if your plan is not working, so we can change it rather than let you continue paying for something that is not helping.
What if it isn't working for me?
We will tell you honestly, rather than let you keep paying for something that is not helping. There is a proper review at three and six months, and we will discuss other options.
Is it normal to plateau?
Yes. Weight rarely comes off in a straight line. A few flat weeks is not failure and usually is not a reason to change anything.
I have an event coming up. Will I be ready?
Be honest with yourself about the timeline. This builds over months, not weeks. If your event is soon, the treatment may still be right for you — but it works best as a longer-term change than a countdown.
Will I have loose skin?
Some people do after substantial weight loss. Losing weight at a steady pace rather than as fast as possible, and keeping your protein up, both help.
My friend lost more than me.
People respond very differently. Your starting point, your body, your other health conditions and your habits all shape your result. Comparing yourself — especially to people online — is a fast route to feeling you have failed when you have not.
Is this something I stay on long term?
For most people, yes, in some form. Weight is a long-term health matter rather than a short project. If treatment is part of your plan, it works while you are on it — stopping usually means the appetite returns and weight follows.
That does not mean you are on the same thing forever. It means stopping is something you plan with your care team rather than something that just happens. We would rather you knew that now than discovered it later.
Safety & privacy
Is it safe?
That is exactly what the screening is for. Nobody is prescribed anything until a doctor has seen their results and checked that it is safe for them specifically. Once on treatment, most people get some stomach effects early on that settle. A small number of effects are serious and need prompt attention, and you will be told exactly what to watch for.
Are there side effects?
Most people on this kind of treatment experience some stomach-related effects, particularly in the early weeks and after each dose increase. They are usually temporary and manageable, and your care team will show you how to handle them.
One thing worth knowing before you start: the first weeks are about your body adjusting, not about the treatment working yet. Do not judge it on how you feel in week two — that is the settling-in phase, and it passes. A small number of effects are more serious and need prompt attention. Your doctor goes through all of this with you before you start anything, and you will have your care team to contact whenever something does not feel right.
Are there fake versions of these medicines?
Yes — and this is not a scare story. Health regulators in Kenya and internationally have issued public warnings about counterfeit pens, including pens containing an entirely different medicine that sent people to hospital.
Buy only from a licensed pharmacy — never from social media sellers, WhatsApp groups, gyms, or anyone offering a deal. A price far below everyone else's is a warning sign, not a bargain. If someone offers it to you without a consultation, that alone tells you something is wrong. And if anything about your pack looks wrong, bring it to us and we will check it.
Is my information confidential?
Yes. Your answers, your documents and your results are confidential medical records, handled in line with data protection law and seen by the clinical team looking after you. We will only contact your regular doctor if your doctor judges it necessary for your safety — and you are asked to agree to that up front.
Will anyone know I'm on this — and can I have my data deleted?
Not from us — deliveries are discreet. And if you ever want your data deleted, tell us and the team will explain what happens to your information and what must be retained as a medical record.
Your goal is already yours.
Now find out what the right plan could look like.
The initial eligibility check is free. Clinical assessment is required before joining the programme.
Weight management results vary from person to person and depend on sensible lifestyle factors, including a healthy, balanced diet and regular physical activity, alongside your clinical plan.
THE BRAG is a doctor-led clinical programme. We make no slimming, fat-burning or starch-blocking claims. *This product has not been proven to burn fat or block starch.
