Amlovas 10 mg contains amlodipine which is a calcium channel blocker that dilates (widens) blood vessels and improves blood flow. Amlovas 10 mg is used to treat chest pain (angina) and other conditions caused by coronary artery disease. Amlovas 10 mg is also used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure may lower your risk of a stroke or heart attack. Amlodipine is for use in adults and children who are at least 6 years old.
Take Amlovas 10 mg strictly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all directions on your prescription label. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose. Do not use this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. You may take Amlovas 10 mg with or without food. Take the medicine at the same time each day.
Drinking alcohol can further lower your blood pressure and may increase certain side effects of Amlovas .You should not take Amlovas 10 mg if you are allergic to amlodipine.
