Overview

Aprovel 300mg Tablets (28 pack) from Sanofi contain irbesartan, an angiotensin-receptor blocker (ARB), at the higher 300mg strength for high blood pressure that needs stronger control. Irbesartan relaxes and widens the blood vessels by blocking a hormone that tightens them, lowering pressure and easing the heart's workload, and it also helps protect the kidneys in people with type 2 diabetes and hypertension. The 300mg dose is used when 150mg is not enough. Once-daily and well tolerated, Aprovel gives smooth, 24-hour blood-pressure control for people with hypertension.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily, with or without food, swallowed with water at the same time each day. This higher strength is used when a lower dose has not controlled blood pressure enough. Keep taking it even when you feel well, do not stop without advice, and attend regular blood-pressure, kidney and potassium checks.

Do not use in pregnancy. ARBs can harm the unborn baby; tell your doctor at once if you become or plan to become pregnant. May cause dizziness, especially at first or on standing. Rise slowly. Can raise blood potassium and affect the kidneys; tell your doctor about kidney problems, dehydration or potassium supplements and water tablets. Store below 30°C.
