Overview
Asomex 2.5mg contains S-amlodipine (levamlodipine), a calcium channel blocker used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and angina (heart-related chest pain). It relaxes and widens blood vessels so blood flows more easily and the heart works less hard. As a purified form of amlodipine, it aims to control blood pressure effectively with a lower chance of ankle swelling. Supplied as a 30-tablet pack for once-daily treatment.
Active ingredient: S-Amlodipine (as besilate) 2.5mg per tablet.
Directions for Use
This medicine requires a prescription. Use only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take one tablet once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow with water. Continue taking it even if you feel well; high blood pressure usually has no symptoms. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.
Use with care if you have liver disease, very low blood pressure or heart failure. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. May cause ankle swelling, flushing, headache, tiredness or dizziness. Avoid grapefruit juice, which can raise medicine levels. Rise slowly to avoid dizziness. Store below 30°C.
