Overview
Betadine Gargle and Mouthwash is an antiseptic povidone-iodine rinse for the mouth and throat. It helps relieve and treat sore throats, mouth ulcers, gum infections and oral thrush, and is used for oral hygiene before and after dental procedures. By killing germs in the mouth and throat, it soothes soreness and supports healing. The 125ml bottle is a handy size for managing throat and mouth infections at home.
Active ingredient: Povidone-iodine 1% w/v.
Directions for Use
For oral use. Do not swallow. Use undiluted or dilute with an equal amount of warm water as directed. Gargle or rinse around the mouth with about 10ml for up to 30 seconds, then spit out. Use up to four times a day, or as advised, for no more than 14 days unless your doctor recommends otherwise.
Do not swallow. Not for regular long-term use, in children under 6, in pregnancy or breastfeeding, or in people with thyroid problems, except on medical advice. Stop use if irritation occurs. Avoid in known iodine allergy. May temporarily stain teeth and tongue, which usually brushes off. Store below 25°C.
