Cardinol 50 mg Tablets contains Atenolol which is used in the treatment of high blood pressure. Cardinol 50 mg is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart. It works by slowing down the heart rate and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cardinol 50 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Atenolol and alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate. Cardinol 50 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy. There is positive evidence of human fetal risk,always consult your physician. Cardinol 50 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Cardinol 50 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Cardinol 50 mg Tablet may be needed. Common side effects include Cold extremities, Fatigue, Slow heart rate, Nausea, Diarrhoea.
