Cardura XL 4mg Tablets (28 pack) contain doxazosin 4mg in an extended-release format, an alpha-blocker from Pfizer for high blood pressure and the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate (BPH). Doxazosin relaxes blood vessels and the muscle around the prostate and bladder neck, easing both blood pressure and weak, hesitant urinary flow, with smooth once-daily XL action.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take one tablet once daily, with breakfast, swallowed whole. Do not crush, chew or split the extended-release tablet; the empty tablet shell may appear in the stool, which is normal. Take at a consistent time and rise slowly, especially when starting.

Dizziness, particularly early or on standing, can occur. Rise slowly and avoid driving until you know your response. Report persistent dizziness, palpitations or ankle swelling. Tell your eye surgeon you take an alpha-blocker before any cataract surgery (it affects the iris). Use caution with blood-pressure and erectile-dysfunction medicines (additive lowering). Prostate symptoms should be assessed before treatment to exclude other causes. Use caution in significant liver impairment.
