Overview

Dicard 50mg is a prescription medicine for chronic heart failure, containing sacubitril and valsartan. Sacubitril (a neprilysin inhibitor) boosts protective natural peptides that relax blood vessels and help the body remove excess salt and water, while valsartan (an angiotensin receptor blocker) relaxes blood vessels and reduces strain on the heart. Together they help the heart pump more effectively and reduce the risk of heart-failure hospitalisation, supporting adults with heart failure under specialist care.

Active ingredients: Sacubitril + Valsartan (total 50mg, i.e. sacubitril 24mg + valsartan 26mg).

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Dicard is usually taken twice daily, with or without food, swallowed with water, at about the same times each day. Your doctor will usually start at a lower dose and adjust it. If switching from an ACE inhibitor, a gap of 36 hours is needed before starting. Take it regularly and do not stop without medical advice.

This is a prescription medicine. Must NOT be combined with an ACE inhibitor (leave a 36-hour gap) and must be avoided in pregnancy. Tell your doctor if you are or may become pregnant. May cause low blood pressure, dizziness, high potassium or reduced kidney function. Your doctor will monitor blood tests. Tell your doctor about any history of angioedema (swelling), kidney or liver problems, and all other medicines (including potassium supplements and anti-inflammatories). Store in a cool, dry place.
