Duphalac Syrup 200ml contains lactulose, the gentle osmotic laxative trusted worldwide for constipation in adults, children, pregnant women and the elderly. Directions for Use

Adults: start with 15-45ml once daily (or divided), adjusting to the lowest dose that gives a comfortable daily stool. Commonly 15-30ml maintenance. Children: dose by age as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. Take at the same time daily, with or without food; it can be diluted in water or juice. Allow 1-3 days for full effect and drink plenty of fluids. For hepatic encephalopathy, follow your doctor's dosing exactly.

Bloating and wind are common in the first days and usually settle. Do not use with bowel obstruction, galactosaemia, or undiagnosed severe abdominal pain. Diabetics on high doses should account for its sugar content. Prolonged excessive doses cause diarrhoea and electrolyte imbalance. Use the lowest effective dose.
