Exforge HCT 10/160/12.5mg Tablets (28 pack) bring together three blood pressure medicines in one daily Novartis tablet: amlodipine 10mg to relax artery walls, valsartan 160mg to block the vessel-tightening hormone angiotensin II, and hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg to clear excess salt and fluid. This triple combination is prescribed when two medicines are not enough, replacing three separate pills with one and making it far easier for people with resistant hypertension to stay consistent with treatment.

Amlodipine (as besylate) 10mg, valsartan 160mg and hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg per film-coated tablet.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily, with or without food, ideally in the morning as the diuretic increases urination. Take at the same time each day and never stop just because you feel well. Attend regular reviews for blood pressure, kidney function and electrolytes, and keep up salt reduction and exercise.

Do not use in pregnancy. Tell your doctor immediately if you become pregnant, or with severe liver or kidney impairment. Dizziness and ankle swelling can occur. Rise slowly. The thiazide can affect potassium, sodium, blood sugar and uric acid (gout). Avoid combining with ACE inhibitors, aliskiren, potassium supplements and regular NSAIDs.
