Gaviscon Double Action Liquid 150ml delivers two-in-one relief from heartburn and acid indigestion. Its alginate forms a protective 'raft' that floats on the stomach contents, physically blocking acid from rising into the food pipe, while added antacids neutralise excess stomach acid at the source. Relief starts within minutes and lasts up to four hours. Considerably longer than simple antacids. Making it ideal after big meals, spicy food and late dinners, and during pregnancy heartburn on professional advice. The handy 150ml bottle is a trusted bedside and kitchen-cupboard companion for households.

Per 10ml: sodium alginate 500mg, sodium bicarbonate 213mg, calcium carbonate 325mg. Full excipient list available on product packaging.

Directions for Use

Shake well before use. Adults and children over 12: take 10-20ml after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day, using the measuring cup provided. Do not exceed 80ml in 24 hours. If symptoms persist beyond 7 days despite regular use, consult your doctor or pharmacist for proper review.

Contains sodium and calcium. People on salt-restricted diets or with kidney disease, heart failure or high blood calcium should check with a doctor or pharmacist before regular use. Not recommended for children under 12 unless advised. Seek prompt medical advice for difficulty swallowing, unintended weight loss, persistent vomiting or black stools. These need investigation, not antacids. Generally considered suitable in pregnancy; confirm with your midwife or doctor. Leave 2 hours between Gaviscon and other medicines, as it can affect their absorption. Store below 30°C; do not refrigerate.
