Overview

Duodart 0.5mg/0.4mg Capsules (30 pack) from GSK combine dutasteride and tamsulosin. The original branded dual therapy for moderate-to-severe benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). Tamsulosin relaxes prostate and bladder-neck muscle for relief within days, while dutasteride steadily shrinks the gland itself over months by blocking the hormone that drives its growth. Together they improve urine flow, reduce night-time trips to the bathroom and cut the long-term risk of urinary retention and prostate surgery for men under urological care.

Dutasteride 0.5mg with tamsulosin hydrochloride 0.4mg (modified release) per capsule.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. One capsule once daily, about 30 minutes after the same meal each day. Swallow whole; do not chew or open the capsule. Full prostate-shrinking benefit takes 3-6 months of daily use. Continue even when symptoms improve. Attend scheduled prostate reviews, including PSA checks.

For men only. Women and children must not handle leaking capsules; the contents can harm an unborn male baby. Do not donate blood during treatment and for 6 months after stopping. May cause dizziness on standing, ejaculation changes and reduced libido. Dutasteride lowers PSA readings. Ensure your doctor knows you take it. Caution before cataract surgery (floppy iris syndrome).
