Xatral LP 10mg Tablets (30 pack) from Sanofi contain alfuzosin in a prolonged-release (LP) form, used to ease the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia). Alfuzosin is an alpha-blocker that relaxes the muscle in the prostate and bladder neck, allowing urine to flow more freely. This relieves bothersome symptoms such as a weak or interrupted stream, difficulty starting, dribbling and frequent or urgent urination, especially at night. The once-daily prolonged-release tablet gives steady, all-day relief. A doctor-prescribed option helping older men with troublesome prostate-related urinary symptoms.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily, immediately after the same meal each day, swallowed whole with water. Do not crush, chew or break the prolonged-release tablet, as this releases the medicine too quickly. Take the first dose at bedtime to reduce the chance of dizziness. Keep taking it daily for ongoing symptom relief.

May cause dizziness or light-headedness, especially with the first dose or on standing up. Rise slowly and take care. Tell your doctor if you are having cataract or other eye surgery, as alfuzosin can affect the procedure. Tell your doctor about low blood pressure, heart problems or other blood-pressure medicines.
