Hemsamic 500mg Capsules (20 pack) contain tranexamic acid, an antifibrinolytic medicine that reduces excessive bleeding by helping blood clots remain stable. It is widely prescribed for heavy menstrual periods (menorrhagia). Cutting blood loss significantly during the heaviest days, and for nosebleeds, bleeding after dental procedures and other abnormal bleeding under medical direction. For the many women whose heavy periods drain energy and cause anaemia, tranexamic acid offers effective, hormone-free relief taken only on bleeding days, as prescribed.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. For heavy periods, a typical dose is two capsules (1g) three times daily for up to 4-5 days, started when heavy bleeding begins. It is taken during bleeding days only, not all month. Swallow with water, with or without food. Seek review if bleeding remains heavy despite treatment.

Do not use with a history of blood clots (DVT, pulmonary embolism, stroke), active clotting disorders, or kidney failure. Caution if you take combined hormonal contraceptives. The clot risk adds; discuss with your doctor. Report painful swollen legs, chest pain, breathlessness or vision changes urgently. Heavy periods should be investigated for underlying causes (fibroids, anaemia). Nausea and diarrhoea can occur at higher doses. Store below 30°C.
