Pradaxa 150mg Capsules (60 pack) contain dabigatran etexilate, Boehringer Ingelheim's oral anticoagulant (blood thinner) prescribed to prevent stroke in atrial fibrillation and to treat and prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism. Dabigatran directly blocks thrombin, the central clotting enzyme, giving predictable protection without the routine INR blood tests and dietary restrictions of warfarin. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Typically one 150mg capsule twice daily, about 12 hours apart, with or without food. Swallow capsules whole with water; do not open, chew or crush them (this dangerously increases absorption). Never miss or double doses. Protection fades quickly. Do not stop without medical advice, and tell every clinician (including dentists) that you take Pradaxa before any procedure.

Bleeding is the main risk. Seek urgent care for unusual bruising, prolonged bleeding, black stools, pink urine or severe headache. Avoid with mechanical heart valves, severe kidney impairment or active bleeding. Interacts with ketoconazole, ciclosporin, dronedarone, rifampicin and NSAIDs/aspirin. Disclose all medicines. Kidney function is checked before and during treatment. Indigestion is common. Take with food if needed. Keep capsules in the original bottle/blister (moisture-sensitive); store below 30°C and use within 4 months of opening a bottle.
