Goutgesic 40mg Tablets (10 pack) contain febuxostat, a medicine that lowers the level of uric acid in the blood to prevent gout. Febuxostat reduces the body's production of uric acid, the substance that forms sharp crystals in the joints and triggers the intense pain, redness and swelling of gout attacks. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine for long-term prevention, not for treating a sudden attack. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily, with or without food, at the same time each day. Keep taking it every day, even when you have no symptoms, and attend uric-acid blood checks.

Do not stop during a gout attack. Keep taking it and treat the attack separately as your doctor advises. Attacks may temporarily increase in the first months; this does not mean it is failing. Tell your doctor about heart, liver or kidney problems. Stop and seek urgent care for any rash, especially with fever or blistering, which can rarely be serious. Drink plenty of fluids.
