Kolzine Tablets contain colchicine 500 micrograms, a long-established medicine for gout. One of the most painful forms of arthritis, caused by uric acid crystals in the joints. Kolzine is used to treat acute gout attacks and, at low doses, to prevent flare-ups when starting uric-acid-lowering treatment. It works by calming the intense inflammatory reaction to urate crystals, easing the severe pain, swelling and redness of an attack. With gout increasingly common , Kolzine offers an affordable, doctor-directed option for both attack treatment and short-term prevention (100 tablets).

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Colchicine dosing must be followed exactly, as too much is dangerous. For acute gout, a typical regimen is an initial dose followed by smaller doses as prescribed, starting at the first sign of an attack. For prevention, a low daily dose may be prescribed. Never exceed the prescribed dose or repeat courses sooner than advised. Swallow tablets with water, with or without food.

Colchicine is toxic in overdose. Keep strictly to the prescribed dose and seek urgent help if overdose is suspected. Stop taking it and contact your doctor if nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea develop. These are early warning signs of excess. Do not use in severe kidney or liver disease, or with certain interacting medicines (including clarithromycin and some antifungals). Tell your doctor everything you take, and avoid grapefruit juice. Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding only on specialist advice. Store below 30°C in a dry place.
