Zyloric 100 mg tablets contains Allopurinol 100 mg which is used in the treatment of gout. Zyloric 100 mg Tablet is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor. It works by decreasing blood uric acid, which is the chemical that causes gout.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Zyloric 100 mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
Taking alcohol can affect the action of Zyloric 100 mg Tablet, increase your uric acid levels and hence aggravate gout. Zyloric 100 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney and liver disease. Dose adjustment may be needed. Common side effect is Skin rash.
