Nimotop 30mg Tablets (100 pack) from Bayer contain nimodipine, a calcium-channel blocker that acts particularly on the blood vessels of the brain. It is used to prevent and treat the dangerous narrowing of brain arteries (vasospasm) that can follow a type of stroke caused by bleeding around the brain (subarachnoid haemorrhage). By relaxing these vessels and improving blood flow, nimodipine helps protect brain tissue from damage during this critical period. It is a specialist, hospital-initiated treatment used under close medical supervision. A doctor-prescribed medicine helping protect the brain in people recovering from this serious type of stroke.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine started and supervised by doctors, usually after a brain haemorrhage. Take only as directed. Commonly every four hours, swallowed whole with water, often continued for a set number of days, then as your doctor advises. Take it regularly at the set times, and do not stop or change the dose yourself. Follow all hospital and follow-up instructions closely during the recovery period.

Used under close medical supervision. May cause low blood pressure, dizziness, flushing or headache. Your blood pressure will be monitored. Avoid grapefruit, which raises drug levels, and tell your doctor about liver problems and all other medicines (including other blood-pressure medicines). Rise slowly to reduce dizziness.
