Letrol 2.5mg Tablets (30 pack) contain letrozole, a hormone-based medicine used mainly in the treatment of breast cancer in women who have been through the menopause. Letrozole lowers the body's production of oestrogen, the hormone that can drive the growth of certain (hormone-receptor-positive) breast cancers. Helping to slow or stop their growth and reduce the risk of the cancer returning. It is also used under specialist care to help stimulate ovulation in some fertility treatments. A doctor-prescribed, once-daily tablet that plays an important role in breast-cancer care for women .

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine, usually overseen by a cancer or fertility specialist. Take only as directed. For breast cancer it is typically one tablet once daily, at the same time each day, with or without food, swallowed with water, often continued for several years. For fertility use it is taken for a few days each cycle exactly as the specialist directs. Keep taking it as prescribed and attend all reviews.

Lowering oestrogen can cause hot flushes, joint or muscle aches, tiredness and, with long use, thinning of the bones (your doctor may monitor bone health). Tell your doctor about osteoporosis, liver problems or heart disease. Must not be used in pregnancy when taken for cancer; for fertility use, follow the specialist's strict instructions.
