Linamide 25mg is a prescription anticancer medicine containing lenalidomide 25mg, a thalidomide-related immunomodulatory drug. It is used, usually alongside other medicines, to treat certain blood and bone-marrow cancers - including multiple myeloma, some myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and mantle cell lymphoma. Lenalidomide works by boosting the body's immune response against cancer cells, slowing their growth and limiting the blood supply that tumours need. Directions for Use

This medicine requires a prescription. Use only as directed by your cancer specialist. Swallow the capsule whole with water, at about the same time each day - do not open, break or chew it. A common regimen is 25mg once daily on days 1-21 of a repeating 28-day cycle, often combined with dexamethasone, but your doctor will set the exact dose and schedule. Handle the capsules as little as possible and wash hands after contact. Attend all appointments for blood tests and monitoring.

MUST NOT be used in pregnancy - lenalidomide causes severe birth defects. Both women and men must use effective contraception before, during and after treatment as directed, and it must not be used while breastfeeding. It can lower blood cell counts (raising the risk of infection, bleeding and anaemia) and increase the risk of blood clots, so report fever, bruising, breathlessness or leg swelling promptly. Tell your doctor about kidney or liver problems and all other medicines. Do not donate blood during treatment. Store below 30°C out of reach of children.
