Piriton Expectorant Linctus (100ml) is a soothing syrup for coughs and colds that come with a chesty, mucousy cough and allergy-type symptoms. It typically combines an antihistamine (chlorphenamine) to ease a runny nose, sneezing and allergy symptoms with an expectorant to help loosen and clear chest mucus, making a productive cough easier. The pleasant linctus is easy to take. A soothing cough-and-cold remedy helping families ease chesty coughs and allergy symptoms. Confirm the actives on the pack.
Typically contains Chlorphenamine (antihistamine) with an expectorant (e.g. Guaifenesin/Ammonium salts). Confirm exact actives and strengths on the pack.
Directions for Use
Take by mouth using the measuring cup or spoon provided, following the dose and age guidance on the label. Do not exceed the stated dose or number of doses in 24 hours. Drinking extra fluids helps loosen chest mucus. As the antihistamine can cause drowsiness, a dose before bed may suit. Replace the cap after use.
May cause drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery if affected, and avoid alcohol. Use with care and seek advice if you have glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, breathing problems, liver or heart disease. Not for young children unless the label allows. See a doctor if the cough lasts more than a week or two, or comes with a high fever, breathlessness or coughing up blood. Check the label for sugar content if diabetic. Store below 30°C.
