Overview
Empiget 10mg Tablets (14 pack) contain empagliflozin, an oral medicine for type 2 diabetes from the SGLT2-inhibitor family. Empagliflozin works in the kidneys, causing excess blood sugar to be passed out in the urine, which lowers blood-sugar levels and often supports modest weight loss and a small drop in blood pressure. Beyond glucose control, this class is also valued for protecting the heart and kidneys in suitable patients. It is used alongside diet and exercise, often with other diabetes medicines. A modern, doctor-prescribed option helping people manage type 2 diabetes and reduce related risks. Confirm the active on the pack.
Active: Empagliflozin 10mg per tablet. Confirm on packaging.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily in the morning, with or without food, swallowed with water. Drink enough fluids to stay well hydrated. Keep to your diet, exercise and blood-sugar monitoring plan, and attend regular reviews of blood sugar and kidney function. Do not stop without advice.
Because it raises sugar in the urine, it can increase genital and urinary infections. Keep good hygiene and tell your doctor about itching, discharge or burning on passing urine. Seek urgent care for symptoms of a serious acid build-up (nausea, vomiting, deep breathing, drowsiness), which can rarely occur even with near-normal sugar. Stop the tablet and get help. Stay hydrated, and pause it during serious illness, dehydration or before surgery as advised. On its own it rarely causes low blood sugar, but the risk rises with insulin or a sulfonylurea. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on advice. Store below 30°C. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
