GlucowellMet 50/500mg Tablets (30 pack) combine two diabetes medicines. Vildagliptin 50mg and metformin 500mg. In one tablet for type 2 diabetes. Vildagliptin, a DPP-4 inhibitor, helps the body release insulin when blood sugar is high and curbs the sugar made by the liver, while metformin reduces liver sugar production and improves how the body uses insulin. Together they give stronger blood-sugar control than either alone, helping protect against the long-term complications of diabetes. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet twice daily with or just after meals, swallowed whole with water. Taking it with food reduces stomach upset from the metformin. Do not skip meals. Keep to your diet, exercise and monitoring plan, and attend regular reviews of blood sugar, kidney and liver function.

Stop and seek urgent care for vomiting, rapid breathing or severe weakness (rare lactic acidosis from metformin), or for severe persistent stomach pain spreading to the back (possible pancreatitis). On its own this combination rarely causes low blood sugar, but the risk rises with a sulfonylurea or insulin. Tell your doctor about kidney or liver problems, and pause around surgery or scans using contrast dye. Avoid excess alcohol. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on specialist advice.
