Overview
Treviamet 50/850mg Tablets from Getz Pharma combine sitagliptin, a DPP-4 inhibitor, with metformin in a single tablet for adults with type 2 diabetes not adequately controlled on metformin alone. Sitagliptin enhances the body's own incretin system, boosting insulin release when blood sugar is high and curbing glucose production, while metformin improves insulin sensitivity. The combination strengthens blood sugar control with a low risk of hypoglycaemia and weight neutrality. An affordable, quality-assured step-up option for people managing type 2 diabetes (14 tablets).
Sitagliptin (as phosphate) 50mg and metformin hydrochloride 850mg per film-coated tablet.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. The usual dose is one tablet twice daily with meals, which reduces stomach upset from metformin. Swallow whole with water at the same times each day. Monitor your blood sugar as advised, and do not change or stop the dose without medical guidance.
Do not use in type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe kidney or liver disease, or conditions predisposing to lactic acidosis (severe dehydration, serious infection, heavy alcohol use). Stop temporarily before surgery or contrast X-ray dye as advised. Report severe persistent abdominal pain (possible pancreatitis) and any severe skin or allergic reactions promptly. May cause mild nausea, diarrhoea or metallic taste early on. Kidney function should be checked periodically. Tell your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding. Store below 30°C.
