Overview

Brimochek-T Eye Drops combine two glaucoma medicines. Brimonidine and timolol. To lower raised pressure inside the eye. Brimonidine both reduces the amount of fluid the eye makes and improves its drainage, while timolol (a beta-blocker) further cuts fluid production; together they lower eye pressure more effectively than either alone. Lowering eye pressure helps protect the optic nerve and preserve sight in glaucoma and ocular hypertension. The combined drop is convenient, reducing the number of separate medicines needed. A doctor-prescribed eye drop helping people with glaucoma protect their vision. Confirm the actives on the pack.

Actives: Brimonidine tartrate 0.2% and Timolol 0.5% per ml. Confirm exact strengths on the product packaging.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your eye doctor. Usually one drop into the affected eye(s) twice daily, about 12 hours apart. Wash your hands, tilt your head back, pull down the lower lid and instil the drop without touching the dropper tip to the eye, then close the eye and press the inner corner for a minute or two to limit absorption into the body. If using other eye drops too, wait about 5 minutes between them. Keep using it daily even though glaucoma has no symptoms.

Because it contains a beta-blocker that can be absorbed, tell your doctor about asthma or other breathing problems, a slow heart rate, heart failure or low blood pressure. It may not be suitable. May cause red eyes, stinging, dry mouth, drowsiness or tiredness. Pressing the inner eye corner after the drop reduces body absorption. Not for use in young children. Remove contact lenses before use and wait 15 minutes before reinserting. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on advice. Discard 28 days after opening; do not share.
