Overview

Duotrav Eye Drops (2.5ml) from Alcon combine two glaucoma medicines. Travoprost and timolol. In one bottle to lower raised pressure inside the eye. High eye pressure can damage the optic nerve and lead to sight loss in glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Travoprost helps fluid drain away from the eye while timolol reduces how much fluid the eye makes; together they lower eye pressure more effectively than either alone, from a single once-daily drop. A doctor-prescribed treatment helping people with glaucoma protect their vision. Confirm the actives on the pack.

Actives: Travoprost 40 micrograms/ml (0.004%) and Timolol 5mg/ml (0.5%, as maleate) per ml. Confirm on packaging.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your eye doctor. Usually one drop into the affected eye(s) once daily, often in the morning. Wash your hands, tilt your head back, pull down the lower lid and place one drop inside it without touching the eye or dropper tip. Close the eye and press gently at the inner corner for a minute to limit absorption. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them first and wait 15 minutes before reinserting. Use other eye drops at least 5 minutes apart.

Travoprost may gradually and permanently darken the iris and eyelid skin and lengthen lashes. The timolol component is absorbed into the body. Tell your doctor about asthma or other breathing problems, a slow heart rate or heart conditions, as it may not be suitable. May cause brief stinging, redness or blurred vision; do not drive until vision clears. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on advice. Store as directed and discard 4 weeks after opening.
