Overview

Vermox 500mg Tablets (single tablet) from Janssen contain mebendazole at the higher 500mg strength, designed as a convenient single-dose deworming treatment. Mebendazole clears common intestinal worms. Roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and threadworm. By starving them of the sugar they need so they die and pass out of the body. The single high-dose tablet makes routine deworming simple for adults and children, with just one tablet to take. A handy, effective option for families keeping intestinal worms in check.

Directions for Use

Take as directed on the label or by your doctor or pharmacist. Usually a single 500mg tablet taken once, which can be chewed or swallowed with water. For threadworm, a second dose after about 2 weeks may be advised to catch reinfection. Treating the whole household at the same time and maintaining good hygiene helps stop the worms returning.

Not generally recommended for children under 2 years or in pregnancy (especially the first 3 months) except on medical advice; discuss breastfeeding with your pharmacist. Mild stomach upset or wind can occur as worms clear. Keep nails short and clean, wash hands well, and wash bedding and underwear to prevent threadworm spreading. See a doctor if symptoms persist.
