Hidrasec 30mg Granules (30 sachets) contain racecadotril, an anti-diarrhoeal medicine for children that works differently from medicines that simply slow the gut. Racecadotril reduces the excess water and salt the gut secretes during acute diarrhoea, cutting the amount of fluid lost without stopping the natural clearing of the infection. Given alongside oral rehydration, it helps shorten watery diarrhoea and reduce stool output in babies and children. The child-friendly granules are easy to mix into food or drink. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine for children, used together with oral rehydration solution (and continued feeding). Give only as directed by your doctor. The dose depends on the child's weight, usually three times a day until the diarrhoea settles (for a limited number of days). Mix the granules into food, a drink or infant feed, stir well and give straight away. Keep offering rehydration fluids throughout to replace lost water and salts.

Always use alongside oral rehydration. It does not replace the fluids and salts a child loses. Seek medical care if there is blood in the stool, high fever, persistent vomiting, signs of dehydration (sunken eyes, very little urine, drowsiness), or if diarrhoea lasts beyond the expected few days. Stop and seek advice for any rash or swelling. Tell your doctor about kidney or liver problems. Store below 30°C.
