Overview
Activated Charcoal Tablets (100 pack) contain medicinal activated charcoal, a highly porous form of carbon that binds gases and certain substances in the gut. It is used to relieve trapped wind, bloating and flatulence by adsorbing excess gas, and activated charcoal is also used in medical settings as an emergency adsorbent for some kinds of poisoning or overdose. By soaking up gas and toxins onto its huge surface area, it helps ease digestive discomfort. A handy, affordable option for people troubled by wind and bloating. For suspected poisoning, seek emergency care immediately.
Active: Activated charcoal (medicinal). Confirm strength per tablet on the product packaging.
Directions for Use
For wind and bloating, take as directed on the label. Usually a few tablets with water after meals or when symptoms occur. Swallow with plenty of water. Take activated charcoal at least one to two hours apart from other medicines and supplements, as it can reduce their absorption. For any suspected poisoning or overdose, do not self-treat. Go to an emergency department, where charcoal is given under medical supervision.
Separate from other medicines (including the contraceptive pill) by at least one to two hours, as charcoal can bind and weaken them. Not for ongoing daily use without advice. Do not use in poisoning at home. Seek emergency medical care. Charcoal will turn the stools black, which is harmless. Do not use if you have a bowel obstruction. Drink water to avoid constipation. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on advice. Store in a dry place. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
