Overview

Gaviscon Infant Sachets (30 pack) gently treat reflux and regurgitation (posseting) in babies. The alginate powder mixes with feeds or boiled water and thickens slightly in the baby's stomach, helping milk stay down rather than coming back up. Reducing spit-up, feed-time crying and discomfort without using acid-suppressing medicines. Suitable from birth under medical guidance, Gaviscon Infant from Reckitt is a long-trusted first step for parents managing an unsettled, refluxy baby, used alongside feeding advice from a clinician.

Sodium alginate 225mg and magnesium alginate 87.5mg per dose, with colloidal silica and mannitol. Sugar-free.

Directions for Use

Use on the advice of a doctor, pharmacist or health visitor. Babies under 4.5kg: 1 sachet (one dose-half of the dual sachet) mixed into feeds or given with cooled boiled water after breastfeeds. Babies over 4.5kg: 2 sachets per feed. Maximum 6 doses in 24 hours. Mix as directed on the pack until smooth. Do not thicken feeds with other thickeners at the same time.

Do not use in premature babies, babies with kidney problems, or alongside other feed thickeners except on medical advice. Ensure adequate fluid intake. The alginate can rarely cause constipation or, in dehydration, harder stools. Breastfeeding remains the best nutrition for infants. Reflux care supports, not replaces, feeding guidance. See a doctor if the baby vomits forcefully, refuses feeds, has poor weight gain or blood in vomit. Store below 30°C in a dry place.
