Emadon Syrup 2mg/5ml (30ml) contains ondansetron, a modern anti-sickness (antiemetic) medicine from Dawa Life Sciences. It blocks serotonin 5-HT3 receptors. The trigger pathway for vomiting, and is prescribed to prevent and control nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery. The syrup format allows accurate, gentle dosing for children and for patients who cannot swallow tablets, helping families keep treatment on track without the exhaustion of repeated vomiting.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Doses are individualised by age, weight and the treatment causing the sickness. For chemotherapy, a dose is typically given 1-2 hours before treatment, then continued as prescribed for several days. Measure with the cup or syringe provided. Do not exceed the prescribed daily dose.

Do not use with apomorphine. Tell your doctor about heart rhythm problems (ondansetron can prolong the QT interval), electrolyte disturbances, liver disease or bowel obstruction. Constipation is a common side effect. Headache and flushing may occur. Interacts with carbamazepine, phenytoin, rifampicin and tramadol. Use in pregnancy (especially the first trimester) only after discussing risks with your doctor. Store below 30°C protected from light.
