Overview
Glasoflor Plus Sachets are a probiotic supplement combining Saccharomyces boulardii (a beneficial probiotic yeast) with zinc, used to support gut health and manage diarrhoea of various causes, including diarrhoea associated with antibiotics or infections. Saccharomyces boulardii helps restore the natural balance of gut flora and crowd out harmful organisms, while zinc supports immune function and gut recovery. The single-dose sachets dissolve easily, making them suitable for children and adults during episodes of diarrhoea.
Directions for Use
Empty the contents of the sachet into a little cool water or food (not hot) and take. For children 1-12 years, usually one sachet once daily for 10-14 days; for over 12s, one to two sachets daily, or as directed by a doctor. Use alongside oral rehydration and continued feeding during diarrhoea. If taking with antibiotics, the yeast probiotic is generally compatible. Follow advice.
Generally well tolerated; occasionally causes wind/bloating. Use with caution and medical advice in people who are critically ill, immunocompromised or have a central venous line (rare risk of fungaemia with S. boulardii). High doses of zinc may cause nausea or stomach upset; avoid excess, especially in kidney problems. Seek medical care if diarrhoea is severe, bloody or persistent, or there are signs of dehydration.
