Overview

Cardisprin 75mg contains a low dose of aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid), used for its blood-thinning (antiplatelet) effect rather than as a painkiller. It is used to help prevent blood clots in people at risk of heart attack and stroke, including those with existing heart or circulatory disease, as advised by a doctor. By making the blood platelets less sticky, low-dose aspirin helps keep the blood flowing and reduces the chance of a clot blocking an artery. It is taken regularly, long-term, as part of cardiovascular protection.

Directions for Use

Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. It is usually taken as one 75mg tablet once a day, with or after food to protect the stomach, swallowed with water (if a dispersible form is used, it can be dissolved in water). Take it at the same time each day. Do not stop taking it without checking with your doctor, including before procedures or surgery.

Not suitable if you are allergic to aspirin or other NSAIDs, or have active stomach ulcers or a bleeding disorder. Tell your doctor if you have asthma, indigestion, high blood pressure, or liver or kidney problems, or take other blood thinners or anti-inflammatories. It increases the risk of bleeding. Report black stools, vomiting blood or unusual bruising. Do not give aspirin to children under 16 unless a doctor directs (risk of Reye's syndrome). Take with food. Store below 25°C.
