Overview

Altacef 500mg is an antibiotic containing cefuroxime, a second-generation cephalosporin. It treats a range of bacterial infections including chest and throat infections, sinusitis, urinary tract infections, and skin and soft-tissue infections. Altacef works by killing the bacteria causing the infection. Completing the full prescribed course is essential to clear the infection and help prevent antibiotic resistance. Supplied as a 10-tablet pack.

Not suitable if you are allergic to cephalosporin or penicillin antibiotics. Tell your doctor about any drug allergies. Use with care in kidney problems and during pregnancy or breastfeeding. May cause diarrhoea, nausea or thrush; report severe or persistent diarrhoea. Antibiotics can reduce the reliability of oral contraceptives. Use additional precautions. Store below 30°C. Directions for Use
