Klacid 500mg Tablets (14 pack) from Abbott contain clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet twice a day (about every 12 hours), swallowed whole with water, with or without food. Space the doses evenly. Complete the full course exactly as prescribed, even if you feel better sooner, to fully clear the infection and help prevent antibiotic resistance.

Tell your doctor about heart-rhythm problems (or a family history), liver or kidney problems, and ALL other medicines, as clarithromycin interacts with many. Including certain statins, heart, blood-thinning and migraine medicines, and can rarely affect heart rhythm. Report palpitations, severe or bloody diarrhoea, or yellowing of the skin/eyes. A metallic taste and stomach upset are common. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on advice. Store below 30°C.
