Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Administered by a healthcare professional as an intravenous infusion or injection (or intramuscular injection), reconstituted and dosed by the treating doctor according to the infection and its severity, usually once daily. Complete the full prescribed course even as you improve. This medicine is given under medical supervision.

Tell the care team about any penicillin or cephalosporin allergy before administration. Serious cross-allergy is possible. Not given with calcium-containing IV fluids in newborns (dangerous precipitation risk). Report rash, breathing difficulty, severe or bloody diarrhoea (possible C. difficile) or yellowing of the skin. May affect gallbladder (sludge) and blood tests. Probiotics or follow-up may be advised after the course. Use in pregnancy on medical judgement.
