Overview
Lamisil 125mg Tablets contain terbinafine, an antifungal medicine that treats stubborn fungal infections of the skin, nails and scalp from the inside out. It is used for conditions such as fungal nail infections, ringworm of the scalp and body, and athlete's foot that have not cleared with creams alone. Terbinafine works by stopping the growth of the fungi responsible for the infection. The 125mg strength is often used for children or specific regimens. Lamisil is prescribed by a doctor when an oral antifungal is needed to fully clear a fungal infection that topical treatment cannot reach.
Active ingredient: Terbinafine (as hydrochloride) 125 mg per tablet.
Directions for Use
This medicine requires a prescription. Use only as directed by your doctor. Lamisil tablets are usually taken once daily, at about the same time each day, with water and with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole. Treatment often continues for several weeks to months depending on the infection. For example, nail infections can need many weeks, so complete the full course even though results appear gradually, as the new healthy nail or skin grows in. Do not stop early just because the area looks better.
Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, as liver function may need checking; stop and seek advice if you develop yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, persistent nausea or unusual tiredness. Terbinafine can occasionally affect taste, which usually returns to normal after stopping. Mention all other medicines, as some interact. Stop and seek help if a serious skin rash develops. Tell your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding. Store below 30C in a dry place. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
