Overview

Palido 3mg ER Tablets contain paliperidone, an atypical antipsychotic, in an extended-release form for the treatment of schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. Paliperidone helps rebalance brain chemistry to ease hallucinations, disordered thinking and mood symptoms, with the extended-release design giving smooth once-daily coverage. Used under psychiatric supervision.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Dosage is determined by your prescribing doctor based on your individual needs. Do not adjust your dose without medical supervision. Take once daily, ideally at the same time each day, swallowed whole with water. Never crush, chew or split extended-release tablets. It may be taken with or without food as directed. The non-absorbable tablet shell may appear in the stool; this is normal. Do not stop suddenly. Withdrawal should be supervised.

May cause drowsiness, dizziness on standing, restlessness or muscle stiffness and abnormal movements. Report these. Can raise weight, blood sugar and lipids (monitored) and the hormone prolactin (causing breast or menstrual changes). Seek urgent care for high fever with muscle rigidity, confusion and sweating (a rare emergency). Use caution in heart conditions, Parkinson's, diabetes and the elderly. Avoid alcohol.
