Overview
Nucoxia 120mg Tablets (30 pack) from Zydus contain etoricoxib at the higher 120mg strength, a COX-2 selective anti-inflammatory (NSAID) used for short bursts of severe pain and inflammation. Etoricoxib reduces the body chemicals that cause pain and swelling while being gentler on the stomach than older NSAIDs. The 120mg dose is used mainly for acute gout attacks. Calming the intense pain, redness and swelling of a flare, and for short-term relief of other acute, severe pain. A doctor-prescribed option helping people get through painful gout attacks and acute inflammatory pain.
Active: Etoricoxib 120mg per tablet.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily for a gout attack, with or without food, swallowed with water. The 120mg strength is for short-term use only (such as the few days of a gout flare); your doctor will switch you to a lower dose or stop it once the attack settles. Do not exceed the prescribed dose or duration.
The high dose is for short-term use only. Because it is an NSAID, tell your doctor about heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, kidney or liver problems, or stomach ulcers. COX-2 medicines can raise blood pressure and carry heart and kidney risks, and are avoided in uncontrolled hypertension and significant heart disease. Stop and seek care for black stools, severe stomach pain, chest pain, breathlessness or signs of allergy. Not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding. Store below 30°C.
