Overview

Combivent Nebuliser Liquid (20 unit-dose vials) combines two bronchodilators. Ipratropium bromide 0.5mg and salbutamol 2.5mg per 2.5ml vial. For nebulised relief of airway tightness in COPD and severe asthma. Salbutamol opens the airways within minutes while ipratropium adds a second, complementary relaxing action and extends the effect. Delivered as a fine mist through a nebuliser, Combivent reaches deep into struggling lungs, making it a mainstay for breathless patients in clinics, emergency rooms and home nebuliser programmes.

Per 2.5ml unit-dose vial: ipratropium bromide 0.5mg with salbutamol (as sulphate) 2.5mg, preservative-free nebuliser solution.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. Typically one 2.5ml vial nebulised three to four times daily. Twist open the vial, squeeze the contents into the nebuliser chamber, and breathe the mist through the mouthpiece or mask until the chamber is empty (about 10-15 minutes). Do not swallow or inject the solution. Rinse the mouth and wash the nebuliser parts after each use.

Avoid mist contact with the eyes. Risk of pupil dilation and acute glaucoma, especially in predisposed patients; use a mouthpiece rather than a mask where possible. Caution with glaucoma, prostate enlargement, heart disease, diabetes and overactive thyroid. Tremor, palpitations and dry mouth can occur. If breathing worsens after a dose (paradoxical bronchospasm), stop and seek urgent care. Use in pregnancy on medical advice. Store below 30°C protected from light; use vials immediately once opened.
