Overview

Formonide 400/6 Inhaler contains two asthma/COPD medicines: budesonide 400mcg, an inhaled corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the airways, and formoterol 6mcg, a long-acting bronchodilator that relaxes and opens the airways. Used regularly, it helps prevent and control the symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Such as wheezing, breathlessness and chest tightness, and the formoterol also acts quickly to ease symptoms. A doctor-prescribed inhaler helping people manage asthma and COPD. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use exactly as directed by your doctor. Usually one or two inhalations once or twice daily as a regular preventer, or as part of a maintenance-and-reliever plan if your doctor advises. Shake if required, breathe out, inhale the dose, hold your breath briefly, then rinse your mouth with water and spit out afterwards to help prevent thrush. Do not stop without advice. Keep a separate fast reliever for sudden severe attacks unless told otherwise.

Rinse your mouth after each use to reduce the risk of oral thrush and hoarseness. This is a preventer/maintenance inhaler. It is not a rescue inhaler for a severe asthma attack unless your doctor has set up a specific plan; seek urgent help if breathing suddenly worsens or your reliever is not working. Tell your doctor about heart problems, an overactive thyroid, diabetes or low potassium. Do not stop suddenly. Store below 30°C; do not puncture or burn the canister.
