Overview

Salbut 4mg Tablets (100 pack) contain salbutamol, a bronchodilator that opens up the airways, in oral tablet form. Salbutamol relaxes the tight muscles around the airways to relieve the wheeze, chest tightness, cough and breathlessness of asthma and other reversible airway conditions. While inhalers are usually preferred because they act faster with fewer side effects, salbutamol tablets are an alternative for people who cannot use an inhaler well. The 4mg strength is a standard adult dose. A doctor-prescribed option helping people with asthma or wheezy breathing when an oral medicine is needed.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet three to four times a day, swallowed with water. Do not take more than prescribed, and tell your doctor if you need it more often or your breathing is not well controlled, as your treatment may need reviewing. If you also use an inhaler, keep using it as directed. Take the tablets at evenly spaced times.

May cause a faster heartbeat, tremor (shakiness), headache or muscle cramps, especially at higher doses. Tell your doctor if these are troublesome. Tell your doctor about heart problems, overactive thyroid, diabetes (it can raise blood sugar) or low potassium. Seek emergency help for a severe asthma attack. Oral tablets are not a fast rescue treatment. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on advice. Store below 30°C.
