Overview

Carbimazole 5mg Tablets (100 pack) contain carbimazole, an anti-thyroid medicine used to treat an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism), including Graves' disease. Carbimazole reduces the amount of thyroid hormone the gland produces, gradually settling the symptoms of an overactive thyroid. Such as a fast heartbeat, weight loss, tremor, sweating, anxiety and heat intolerance, and bringing thyroid levels back towards normal over weeks. It is also used to prepare patients for thyroid surgery or radioactive-iodine treatment. A long-established, doctor-prescribed treatment helping people bring an overactive thyroid under control.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. The dose is usually higher at first to bring the thyroid under control, then reduced to a maintenance dose, swallowed with water at the same time(s) each day. It works gradually, so it can take several weeks to feel the full benefit; keep taking it and attend the regular thyroid blood tests your doctor arranges. Do not stop without advice.
