Directions for Use

This is a prescription/pharmacy medicine. Take one capsule (120mg) with water just before, during, or up to one hour after each main meal. Up to three times a day. If you miss a meal, or the meal has no fat, skip that dose. It is meant to be used with a nutritionally balanced, reduced-calorie diet that is lower in fat. Take a multivitamin (containing vitamins A, D, E, K) at bedtime, at least 2 hours apart from orlistat.

Eating high-fat meals while taking it causes oily, loose or urgent stools, wind and oily spotting. Keeping fat intake moderate and spread across meals reduces this. Because it can reduce absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, take a multivitamin separately at bedtime. Tell your doctor about diabetes, thyroid, kidney or gallbladder problems, and other medicines (it can affect some, including the contraceptive pill if you have severe diarrhoea, and warfarin).
